September 17, 2016 Padang Stage (Zone 4) will host a legendary British music band Queen and their vocalist Adam Lambert. They will perform during the night stage of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
Queen's music career practically ended after the tragic death of Freddie Mercury, although the band rarely visited music fests. Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor did not plan to return to the music Olympus until they met Adam Lambert in 2009, with whom they performed a legendary song We are the Champions in the final round of American Idol. Their prolific work began after the show. In fact, Brian May said that Adam Lambert was one of the strongest-voiced artists of the time, a "real gift from heavens" for Queen, who was capable to sing monumental hits at full swing.
Together they visited MTV Europe Awards, had a few concerts in Europe and finally became the major attraction of 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. After that the band was swarmed with offers to carry out a full-scale world tour. Therefore, Queen and Adam Lambert had a few dozens of commercially successful concerts in Canada and Northern America, as well as toured Europe and South America. For instance, they visited Rock in Rio that gathered more than 100,000 music fans. This summer the band is up for a large European tour and it will visit many European cities as well.
