One of the most popular soul singers of the recent years, British guitarist and composer Corinne Bailey Rae will perform in Singapore on the 31st of March, 2017. This young music artist, who was called one of the most promising singers of the year by Mojo, will visit the city during the Singapore International Jazz Festival. The artist plans to present her album "The Heart Speaks in Whispers" here.
Corinne Bailey Rae was born in Leeds, UK. She was very fond of music when she was a child, and this passion made her play the violin back then. The singer then switched to electric guitar. Corinne established her first music band when she was a teenager, but it was not very successful and soon disbanded. The artist signed a contract with a famous record company in 2006, and soon released her debut music album "Corinne Bailey Rae". It ranked very high in many British music charts and was placed 4th in the Billboard 200. This collection of songs brought Corinne 3 Grammy Awards and world-wide popularity.
The second music album was released in 2010. It received the Mercury Prize as the Best Album of the Year. Corinne recorded and presented her new work, "The Heart Speaks in Whispers" in May 2016. Songs from this album and her other popular works will be performed during the festival in Singapore.
