Diwali or Deepavali, also known as Festival of Lights is one of the most significant Hinduism festivals, which have grown to become vibrant event of the Singapore cultural life. Its celebration is usually falls between the late October and early November.

The ethnic quarter Little India hosts the festival. The feast itself signifies the triumph of good over evil, or light over darkness. During Diwali, district’s streets are decorated with bright festive colors, and lightened up with traditional lanterns, candles, and fireworks. It’s common to light the oil lamp that symbolizes the joy, renovation and happiness. One may buy terra-cotta lamps, flowers and other decorative elements in the roadside stands.

Also, the festival features parade with song and dances, vibrant Silver Chariot Procession, as well as spectacular fire show.
