Traditionally held in May, Vesak Day is the significant Buddhist holy day that commemorates births, enlightenment, and death of Buddha. This vivid feast is considered one of the most solemn and beautiful, that’s why it’s so popular with locals and tourists alike.

On Vesak Day, the Buddhist temples are decorated with flowers, fruits and other gifts. At nightfall, it’s common to light the lantern that symbolize the enlightenment coming into the world. During Vesak Day, the vegetarian fair, public reunions, etc. are held.
